Following on from my last post on a healthy haircare regime, I thought I should share with you all my skincare regime and the importance of it. From as early as I can remember my Mum instilled in me the importance of eye cream, and always made sure I had good quality cleansers and moisturisers. I have continued that belief into my adult life and over the past few years have become loyal to a few products.
My skincare regime starts in the morning with a cleanse, moisturise and an eye cream. I also repeat this before bed regardless of how tired I am. I haven’t used a toner in a number of years and although I don’t feel it’s essential if you are doing a good cleanse, some people do prefer the extra clean feeling a toner can provide. Once a week I will exfoliate with Glamglow’s Youthmud which I have posted on previously here to remove any dead skin cells or dry spots which will make my skin appear dull and make foundation difficult to apply.
I have tried a wide range of brands over the past 18 years or so but in the last 4-5 years I have become loyal to Darphin skincare. I use their Cleansing Foam Gel with Water Lily and their Hydraskin Light Cream Gel which is a cult product. The skin around your eyes is so delicate that it’s an absolute must to have an eye cream as part of your daily skincare. I have recently purchased Origins A Perfect World For Eyes Firming Moisture Treatment which I am very excited to try. I have in the last year also tried Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream and Keihl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado which are both great moisturising creams for your eye area.
If your skin is healthy and looking great you will feel more confident and your makeup will be easier to apply. Regardless of your skin type it’s essential to nourish and look after your skin, because after all it’s your skin for life!
